being assistant conductor to Serge Koussevitsky with the Boston Symphony
Orchestra in his early 20's, Bernstein, in his next 40 years, went
on to conduct all the major orchestras of the world and compose a
wide range of music from symphonic and choral to Broadway musicals.
E. ANN DAVIES examines some of the work of this prodigiously
talented musician and composer.
